Urban Hike with New Friends - Santa Monica to Venice

Join Los Angeles Fun Events and Hike.Explore.Repeat for an urban exploration hike (more of a walk), as we eat, drink and make our way along the beach from Santa Monica to Venice. This is one of the best ways to make new friends, and best of all, it's free AND outdoors!

Here is our rough itinerary (specific stops subject to change depending on venue capacity)

9:30AM - Meet at the Tongva Park overlook structure (these are those modern-looking, circular overlooks facing towards the beach). This park is extremely close to the Santa Monica Expo line stop -- that way if anyone wants to skip driving, and take the train instead, it will be easy to do! We will hang out here for 30 minutes to chat and socialize.

10:00AM - Start time for the walk

Stop #1: Santa Monica Pier -- we'll take a short walk down to the pier where we can take some nice photos and check out what's happening at Pacific Park. Sometimes you can even see dolphins! This is also the end of historic Route 66!

Stop #2: The Original Muscle Beach & Singing Beach Chairs - Try your hand at some of the exercise structures at the Original muscle beach of Santa Monica. A little further south is a really cool art installation from 1987 -- The Singing Chairs. Created by San Franciscio artist Doug Hollis, the chairs will create fun sounds as the wind passes by.

Stop #3: Urth Caffe Santa Monica - Depending on how busy it is, let's try and stop for a coffee & snack at Urth Caffe! Urth Caffe is a Europen-style coffee spot adored by locals and celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner. It's been featured many times on shows including "Entourage" and "Ballers." If it is too busy, there are additional coffee options on Main St. including Blue Bottle Coffe and Go Get Em Tiger

Stop #4: Venice Boardwalk - Let's stroll through the Venice Boardwalk and check out the local street vendors, artists and shops

Stop #5: Venice Beach Skatepark - Watch some skateboarding talent with oceanside views!

Stop #6: The Venice Canals - Easily one of the coolest landmarks in Los Angeles -- it's very easy to miss that these exist!

Stop #7: Head towards Venice Pier and find a spot for lunch!
